For attorneys, accountants and other advisers
Your client stays your client.
When a client needs an investment adviser, introduce them to a fiduciary who will build the portfolio around the plan you wrote, keep you informed with the client's permission, and send the legal and tax work back to you.
Where we fit
The plan you draft only works if the money is arranged to match it.
A trust that is never funded, a beneficiary form that contradicts the will, a portfolio that ignores the partnership agreement: the gaps between the documents and the accounts are where plans fail. We close those gaps from the investment side, and we treat your documents as the instructions.
- What we doWrite the client's investment policy, manage the portfolio at Charles Schwab, an independent custodian, align account titling and beneficiaries with your plan, and report every quarter.
- What we do not doDraft or interpret legal documents, prepare tax returns, or give legal or tax advice. When a question is yours, we say so and send it to you.
- Who we work best withFamilies with an estate plan to fund, partners in professional firms, founders before a liquidity event, and foundations with an investment policy to write.
How a referral works
Three steps, and you are in the loop for all of them.
-
Step one
You introduce
Tell us a little about the situation through the form below, or simply copy us on an email to the client. We reply to you within two business days, and contact the client only once you or the client say we may.
-
Step two
We meet the client
A first conversation about what the money is for. If we are the right firm, we write an investment policy with the client that follows your plan: the trust, the titling, the spending needs, the timeline. If we are not, we tell the client and you, plainly.
-
Step three
We keep you informed
With the client's written permission, we send you what you need when you need it: statements at tax time, titling and beneficiary details for an estate review, and a note when anything changes that touches your work.
Referral arrangements, if any, are described in our Form ADV and disclosed to the client as the law requires. We share a client's information with you only with that client's permission.
Make an introduction
Tell us who you are, and about the situation.
You can introduce a client, or just introduce yourself so we know each other before a client needs us. Describe the situation in general terms. Please do not include account numbers, Social Security numbers or other sensitive details in this form; we will collect what we need directly from the client.
